This week, the New York Post Editorial Board published two pieces citing our OpenTheBooks investigation of Mayor Bill de Blasio's city payroll.

"The stats come from OpenTheBooks.com, which tracks pay for 15 million US public employees. It notes that 37,000 of the city's 295,455 full-time workers crossed the $100,000 line thanks to their regular salaries, while more than 39,000 more did it via OT."

"Read 'Team de Blasio' mismanagement."

"The inmates are running the asylum."

"In all, overtime accounts for 12 percent of the city's pay costs, three times the 3.5 percent average in the private sector. That makes it a clear sign that city managers aren't on top of their workforce."

These editorials backstopped the New York Post news story published on Wednesday, page two: 1 in 4 NYC Muni Workers Hit $100G Pay Jackpot.
