

The Department of Justice announced last month that the nonprofit Southern Poverty Law Center, organization designed to confront “hate” in society, was being charged with wire fraud, false statements, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Since 2016, at least $3.85 million has gone to the nonprofit, either as direct payments, or indirectly to help spread their teaching materials in America’s public-school classrooms. This includes a multimillion-dollar grant to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor for it's YES-IDEAS project (formerly YES-ERACE) to inject SPLC's "Teaching Tolerance" curriculum into six local middle schools.
